| Great day yesterday (Sunday)!! Man was that sermon good! Just kidding. Hopefully it did help us think. Anyway, its always a challenge to preach and preach well week in and week out. I hope I am doing that. My Study group sure helps. Tim, Marty and I get together most weeks and share ideas and pick each others brains. Its a blessing. Thanks guys! Hey my dog Abbie is eating better. "Cesars" brand dog food seems to work. Its a little expensive, but maybe we can get her fattened up a little. She's 14 so it won't be long no matter what, but maybe we can keep her around a little longer. Next dog -- yellow lab! (If Jackie will let me). Don't let Abbie see this. | | |
| well jackie and i are done with the rocky movies. I like them. Yo! Now Dats aart! Adrian!!! Okay I'm done. Sorry. My dog sure is old, Abbie, a miniature Schnauzer. She's 14 years old and is having a hard time these days. All of a sudden she won't eat dry food any more. I've gone through several different kinds and finally found something she will eat. She was lost recently for four days. We finally found her in the animal shelter. I think it really shook her up. She hasn't been the same since. You know how things can be in prison. Anyway, Jackie says, "no more dogs after Abbie." We'll see. Maybe I can talk her in to it. Hey, I'm going to Ghana this summer. More on that later. Take care all. | | |
| I haven't made an entry in almost a year. I do better at other things though. My world is always interesting, at least to me anyway. Its probably boring to most everyone else. Silas (grandson) and I enjoy banging our heads against glass doors. That interesting. He just laaaaaaughs. And so do I. He is, without a doubt, the cutest kid in the world. No, I will hear no arguments. Case closed. Jackie and I are watching all the old Rocky movies. We're on ROCKY V. I have never seen that one. We went to see the new one recently, Rocky Balboa. I actually liked it. Is that bad? Take care all! | | |
| Well, Well, Well. What to say.... Oh I know, I just watched one of my favorite movies, the Sound of Music, 40th Anniversary edition. The special features were great. I especially enjoyed the part about the real von Trapp family. It seems the real Maria was a very plain looking, mean old bossy lady who never let her kids out of the house. Several had to sneak off in the middle of the night to get married. Still they loved her and the family was fairly successful in music. She sold the rights to her story for $9,000 to some German company and never got much out of it after that. Isn't that interesting. Still, there's no one who can sing like Julie Andrews. Oh, and I want to visit Austria. | | |
| Well my household has gone back down to Jackie and me and Abbie, our dog. It was nice having Chris Lindsey and Silas living with us for the last five months. What a wonderful blessing having our new grandson in our lives almost every day for the first five months of his life. When he gets older I'll be able to remind him, "You know, you lived with me and your grandma for the first five months of your life." And he'll say, "I know granddaddy, you've told me that a thousand times." I miss the three of them, but I'm happy that they have their own home now. Thursday is our 27th anniversary. 27 wonderful years with the most wonderful woman in the world! Can't wait for the next 27. Have you seen her lately? She still looks 25! She works so hard on her school work. Hopefully she'll have her bachelors degree by October, then off to the Masters. I could never do what she does. Went to "The Path" at First Church in Washington last night. Ray West spoke. He talked about his daughter's death as he related his message that sometimes life doesn't turn out like we expect. Hope is in Christ. It was a great message. I hope the kids and adults were listening. See ya later. | | |
